About Me

Hello!  My name is Shannon.  Thanks for visiting and welcome to my little corner of the blog world.  I am currently a pharmacy student eating, exercising, and living in Philadelphia while blogging along the way.  I strive to live a healthy lifestyle that leaves room for everything.  Since I love to eat, I find it fun to create recipes that are on the healthy end and are quick, easy, and delicious.  I may love salads, but this Philly girl will always enjoy cheese steaks.

I started my blog in November of 2010 as a way to hold myself accountable while sharing healthy and tasty recipes.  During my first year of blogging, I competed in my first 5K in February, 10 miler in May,  triathlon in June, and now I am currently training for several half marathons.  I may not be the fastest one by far, but my motto is that I am still lapping everyone who is still sitting on their couches! Recently, I have lost 25 pounds and am currently maintaining my weight loss.  I find that giving myself physical challenges helps to hold me accountable, and I get a huge sense of personal satisfaction and confidence with every goal and milestone I reach.  I believe in a good sweat once a day whether it be a run, spinning class, yoga, weight lifting session, or long walk with a friend.  There is room for everything in moderation, and I am always trying to maintain an appropriate balance while keeping up with a busy life.
